Annual Fund

Your gift to the Annual Fund is critical to the success of Indi-ED. Comprised of operating gifts from companies, individual donors, parents, and staff, the Annual Fund provides support for academic programs, technology upgrades, and scholarships that touch the lives of every student. The Annual Fund also provides classroom resources, educator training resources, and professional development opportunities for our staff.

Your support sustains excellence in teaching and training.

What is the annual fund?

The Annual Fund is an ongoing fundraising effort. These dollars are used exclusively to support Indi-ED’s operating budget. That means they pay for student materials, real-world experiences, health lessons, books for curriculum, new furniture, teacher salaries, and much, much more. Tax-deductible Annual Fund giving corresponds with Indi-ED’s fiscal year, not the calendar year. That is, the Annual Fund campaign opens up on July 1 of each year and ends on June 30 of the following year.

Why does Indi-ED need the Annual Fund?

Being an independent school means that we are a nonprofit organization and operate without financial support from local or Federal taxes. We rely on tuition income and Annual Fund income to support the day-to-day operations of our school — which come with an annual cost. Our tuition covers only 70 percent of what it costs to educate each Indi-ED student. The Annual Fund helps bridge the gap.

We strive to find and partner with extraordinary teachers who care for the whole student. They are passionate about developing our students as people. Recruiting, developing, and retaining these exceptional people is a must for us. Your support goes toward Professional Development programs for our teachers.

Professional development funds are awarded to support faculty members at all stages of their careers. This helps cover development courses and programs provide resources for developing new courses, and support other opportunities for intellectual exchange.

Through professional development funds, teachers Christine, Rachel, and Emily traveled to the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta to experience their unique professional development program that helps replicate their educational approach and expand the revolution in education here locally.
