Rachel Pethe’

Mrs. Pethe’ holds a Marketing Management Degree from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. In addition to her wide range of teaching experience, from children to business professionals, she also has extensive experience in business.

Mrs. Pethe’ combined her experience in teaching and business to start one of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots groups in Pinellas County. The group she facilitates completed 25 projects a year on average, reaching out to make a difference for the animal and human community as well as for our environment.

In all of her teaching, she balances the same priorities – working to incorporate life long learning skills, incorporating art, music and a level of physicality that brings the mind, heart and body together while maintaining a connection to nature.

Her favorite educational quote is, “I sincerely believe that for the child…it is not half so important to know as to feel. If facts are the seeds that later produce knowledge and wisdom, then the emotions and the impressions of the senses are the fertile soil in which the seeds must grow.”
