This week was a pretty big and busy week at Indi-ED. First, it was time for another family meal. This time it was a little different because we went and had it at the beach — which was SO fun!
Best part? We were learning while we had fun. That’s because we’re studying tides in science right now. So we decided to measure the tide in the bay, which was very interesting. But, get this… we also went and picked up all the trash we could find because we learned about how we can impact our environment too. #CleanBeach
All the fun helped us work up a big appetite, so we feasted on pork sandwiches, mac and cheese, beans, and chips, which the Lockwood family prepared.
We collected shells and played in the water with paddle boards which was really fun!
On Friday, some of the Indi-ED students performed at the Noisemakers show. We all got to perform something with each other, like Jaylyn, Lauren, and I played “Don’t let me down” by the Chainsmokers, Lauren singing, Jaylyn on drums, and I was playing guitar.
My brother Ben played with his band which was very impressive. We all ended up having a great time.
Now in this picture as my last one I am once again doing gymnastics. This is when Mrs. Laurenzi took Reese and I out to go around town to take pictures for our inquiry project. Every picture we took went with a fact, so that was awesome. In this picture I am doing a stag handstand in front of Red Mesa Cantina. Proof once again that Indi-ED is where “normal” education gets flipped upside down..

The Indi-Ed students get to go into the real world every week to learn something new about our environment or our community. This week our class went to Cross-fit. We got to throw a medicine ball into the air. Then we picked up the ball, stood straight, surge, placed ball back down to floor, then lift ball while squatting and grasp the ball by the bottom and then lift it to our chest. This helps to gain strength in our arms. Riley and I held a plank position for 5 minutes. Yay! Oh, I was very sore the next day.
Everyone played “The Pizza Game”. We each had a piece of pizza in our hand. The point of the game was to knock other peoples pizza out of their hands while trying not to get your own pizza knocked from your own hand. This was lots of fun, except when I got smacked in the face twice. LOL
On the way back to Indi-Ed, our home, Little Nugget, Angelina and I slept on each other like dominos.
The class also went to Noise Makers. Little Nugget, Angelina and I played and sung the song, “Don’t Let Me Down”. Angelina played the guitar, Little Nugget was lead singer, and
I played the bongos.
On Wednesday, we had a family meal at the beach. The moms, dads and grandparents were invited. After the meal, Mrs. Laurenzi and her cohorts along with Miss Heller and her cohorts, took turns in cleaning up the beach and then measuring the tide. This was very interesting. Once all of us learned how to measure the tide, we had play time. We played in the water and even did paddle boarding. This was super fun with lots of laughing and cheering each other on.
Learning about our Planet Earth is awesome!
