“Success doesn’t come through grades… it comes through your EXPERIENCES that EXPAND your belief in WHAT’S POSSIBLE.”
-Matea
This quote ties into our week PERFECTLY! Not only is it inspiring, but true all at once. Here is why it ties into our week at Indi-ED.
This week, we went to The Body Electric studio for the debut of our second yoga unit. Some of us weren’t so sure about it, but we were willing to give it a try anyway… and it’s more fun and relaxing/peaceful than any of us would have imagined!
This week, in traditional schools, it’s testing week. I thought to myself, “Wow, we’re here at a yoga studio trying new things, while other kids at other schools are pressed up against hard, wooden desks doing a pointless test for 2 hours straight”. All I need to say about that is, how lucky am I? Very.
Our experiences in the real world are my favorite part of Indi-ED. It just reminds me of how relaxing it is to be embracing life and not be taking a test in a traditional classroom. What we do isn’t only fun, but it’s important as well. It’s important because we know that it will help us learn and succeed more having real experiences than a teacher just telling it to us.
In conclusion, Indi-ED isn’t only a school about having fun and doing less work, it’s about doing the same amount of work in our own, unique way so that we have fun while learning more in the real world.
Ben brainstorming to write this post. He found inspiration looking at one of the quotes that we analyzed that week.
