Packing up our current space in order to move into our next in a few weeks is not only bittersweet, but also provides a powerful moment of reflection.
As we were taking down the photos from our first three years, we noticed just how much we have accomplished but also how much our students have grown.
In addition, as our teachers are simultaneously planning for the upcoming year, the thing that we were reminded of that you can’t see in the pictures is that none of this would be possible without all of the “behind the scenes” work that gets done. And how much we must do together.
Our teachers are planning now and work daily to create engaging, respectful, and rewarding learning opportunities for our kids. Our parents contribute and support our kids at home all year long. Our kids even support one another.
We all pour into our kids and one another. We have to. We are lucky that we get to.
We show up for events to create community. We try to understand. We communicate. We fall and then pick each other back up. We love. We push. We pull back. We do our best. We work together so that OUR kids have the best possible shot at success and living a lifetime of happiness.
So many of these contributions happen behind the scenes and are not captured in beautiful images. But they do not go unnoticed and boldly shine through as we watch our kids grow year after year.
