At Indi-ED, we often say that education works best when it’s a true partnership and we are so grateful to be part of a school community where that partnership is not only present, but thriving.
We may not have a traditional PTA, but what we do have is something powerful: families who consistently show up for our school, our staff, and most importantly, their children. Our parents go above and beyond in ways big and small – whether it’s helping organize off campus events, joining for special surprises, or sending heartfelt, handwritten notes of encouragement to their kids and their teachers. These gestures may seem simple on the surface, but they send a powerful message: you are seen, you are appreciated, and we are in this with you.

Time and time again, our families have shown us what true partnership looks like. They volunteer their time to support group projects, donate materials, chaperone our out of the building adventures, and join us for hands-on learning experiences all over our incredible city. They consistently reach out not just to ask how their child is doing, but to ask how they can help. Whether it’s pitching in behind the scenes or offering their skills and energy, they are genuinely invested in making this the best possible learning environment for everyone involved. And it makes a real difference.
As educators, we feel the difference. We’re not just trusted, we’re respected. Our expertise is valued, our voices are heard, and our professional insight is welcomed into the shared conversation of what’s best for each child and vice versa. That mutual trust and respect is the foundation of a strong, supportive learning environment.

But this isn’t just about making teachers feel good (though it certainly does). When families and educators are aligned, when we’re communicating openly and respectfully, and when we’re united in our purpose, students benefit in immeasurable ways. They see the adults in their lives working together. They know they have a full team behind them. And that confidence, the security of knowing they are supported at school and at home, is what helps them thrive.
I’m in a unique position to experience the Indi-ED community from both sides – as a teacher and as a parent. I have two children enrolled here, and watching them grow in this environment has deepened my appreciation for what makes this school truly special.
As a parent, I’ve seen firsthand how the same care, respect, and support extended to our staff is woven into every interaction with our students. My kids are thriving, not just academically, but socially and emotionally. They are becoming confident, empathetic, kind, and natural leaders, and I attribute so much of that to the way this school partners with families to nurture the whole child.
There is nothing greater to a mother than knowing your child is truly known by their teachers – and even more, that their teachers are part of a community that includes you.

At Indi-ED, we believe this collaborative relationship between home and school isn’t just important, it’s vital. It is at the heart of our work. And we are endlessly grateful to the families who walk beside us each day, cheering us on, lifting us up, and partnering with us to create something truly special for our students.
From all of us, thank you.
